The Creation Machine was a huge hovering structure resembling a hourglass made up of two pyramids, with a smaller spiked sphere between their respective points.
Within her story in the 10,000 Drafts, Pathway believed that the Creation Machine had been used by the Infinite to create the 10,000 worlds of her multiverse. A war had started between the Infinite and the Numbered, with the two factions arguing on whether they should drastically limit the amount of reality brought into existence by the Creation Machine. While the Machine was being fought over, it continued to generate new things for its own protection, coming to rest in the atmosphere of a planet it had created and which it populated with dinosaurs and other fearsome prehistoric creatures.
