The Exploratory Fleet was a division of the Centro Space Navy that focused on exploration, mapping, and search and rescue operations. The Exploratory Fleet is the last remaining part of the Utopian ideals that fueled the construction of the Zheng He and the Magellan. While some in the rest of the Centro Military look down on the Exploratory Fleet, it's done more to make a profit for Centro than any other division as they are constantly charting new places for Centro's mining endeavors.
While many join the Exploratory Fleet expecting adventure, many find the actual work of mapping asteroids that comprises most of their work fairly dull.

Joining the Exploratory Fleet is often jokingly called "Star Fleet" by outsiders, as a reference to Star Trek's idealistic sci-fi space fleet.
