Temporal locks were safeguards which prevented time-travellers from revisiting and altering an established event. The View routinely imposed temporal locks on its own social occasions to safeguard its narrative integrity, but would sometime wait awhile before laying them down, to allow “late early entries” to events whose first iteration had been underwhelming.
